Codiaeum variegatum, commonly known as croton or variegated croton amongst many other names, is a species of plant in the Euphorbiaceae family. Initially described by Carl Linnaeus in 1753, its native range is from Java east to Fiji, and from the Philippines south to Queensland, Australia. It is widely cultivated and has been introduced to many other countries.
Propagate Hibiscus easily and grow new plants from cuttings.
Most common and successful method.
Great for woody branches.
Less common and may not produce identical plants.
Select a healthy semi-woody stem.
Remove lower leaves and trim below a node.
Dip the cut end in rooting hormone.
Place in a well-draining potting mix.
Cover loosely with a plastic bag.
Roots form in 4-6 weeks.
