Repotting Steps

Prepare new pot

Step 1

Choose a pot 1-2 inches wider with drainage holes. Clean it.

Water plant

Step 2

Water the plant 1-2 hours before repotting to reduce stress.

Remove plant

Step 3

Tip pot sideways and gently slide plant out. Tap pot if stuck.

Inspect roots

Step 4

Loosen root ball gently. Trim any circling, dead, or mushy roots.

Add fresh mix

Step 5

Layer 2-3cm of fresh potting mix in new pot.

Position plant

Step 6

Set plant at same depth as before. Fill around with fresh mix.

Water thoroughly

Step 7

Water until it drains from bottom. Let drain completely.
